Drought at Ruacana

People of Ruacana constituency in Omusati region,are going to bend with empty stomach.Drought is caused by poor rainfall over the last two years.The affected people are starving because of poor Mahangu and Maize harvest.The additional 20000 people from Ruacana facing starvation bring to 40000 people need food assistance from the government.Ovahimba people who are living in Ruacana,they have fear of losing their livestock due to the poor grazing within the area.Some community member had started selling their livestock in order to buy food.People in the constituency are asking the government to rescue them.Many people are unemployed and survive on the state pension of elderly villagers.The most affected area are Ombuumbuu,Otjovanatje,Okazent and Ohanyuna.<http://www.namibian.com.na/news/full-story/archive/2012/september/article/food-on-its-way-to-ruacana-area/> </reference>
