I am an American by birth and by schooling, but I prefer British style, and it's my opinion that articles about Commonwealth countries and figures (and topics relating to them, such as local flora and fauna) should conform to British style (and American articles to American style), regardless of which usage was preferred by original edits.

My strengths are spelling, grammar, punctuation, word usage and readability, and I conform to the Wikipedia Manual of Style. Occasionally I make mistakes, but I try my hardest to avoid them.

I think that Oxford commas are the root of all evil.
