A batting all-rounder for Victoria, The classy cricketer made his debut in 2005/2006 against Queensland at St.Kilda's Junction Oval. He made an impressive start, hitting 4 boundaries in his 21 runs off only 16 balls in his ING Cup debut. He bowled 4 overs of his off-spin with figures of 0/19.

Cult Figure[edit]

In his debut he made an early impression to fans, and already has become a cult figure. Although his failed attempt to prove his bowling is up to first class standard having been hit for 63 runs of just 6 overs in his first match away from home. His aggressive batting continues to stun oposition teams. A brief but action filled career was some what tragically cut short following a late night incident involving security staff at the Berwick Inn after a day of drinking with mates. 'Mikey' as he is known too friends and foe has refused to comment on the incident leaving all public relations up to his manager. In a brief statement his manager confirmed that the incident took place and that Robinson was deeply regretful about the brutal attack which forced the Victorian Cricket Association to cut his contract short leaving him once again on the outer of representative cricket after having been cut from the under 14 WGCA rep site in the late 90's for being intoxicated at training and over staying a curfew set by the league. Eye witnesses have seen their hero 'Mikey' at several pubs in the outer east since his public humilation. Sources close to him say Mr Robinson is training hard and will not be discourgaged by his sudden sacking and will relocate to Tasmania to play for local side Hobart in the District competiion and fight his way into the Tasmanian first class roster.

The Victorian Cricket Association have refused all coments regarding the Michael Robinson incident. However in a media statement released early on sunday morning they have revealed that the replace ment for the all-rounder will come in the form of another all-rounder hailing from the eastern-suburb club of Berwick. The exact information will be made public in the next couple of weeks once a contract has been agreed upon.
