I definitely appreciate finding out about the promotion from a fellow editor instead of looking at my edit history (which might take a bit, since while Sandy has promoted the article, Gimmiebot still needs to take care of the busy work). If you notice, I listed R.E.M. (band) at FAC last night. And once I'm done with that, I'm going to collaborate with Brandt Luke Zorn on In Utero and Definitely Maybe. Mad for it. More help needed

Hi Lucifer, Some time ago you were kind enough to give me some pre-FAC commentary on Whitney Joins The JAMs (hell, you've been nothing but kind and helpful since I first met you!).

I think we both agree that article is near FA, and personally I don't see what else I can do with it. You did raise a few possible concerns, concerns which are valid but which might or might not prevent it becoming Featured, so it was my intention to ask Sandy to take a look at it. However, she's currently unavailable. I was wondering if you could recommend somebody else who really knows their stuff who would look at it? Basically, because I consider it about 99% done I don't want to waste everybody's time by sending an unpromotable article to FAC, nor do I want the embarrassment; but of course I don't want to discard an article which can make it. --kingboyk (talk) 00:41, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

Asking for me to support isn't a good idea - asking someone to support your FAC is frowned upon, and you can be given an administrator's warning for doing so. Please be more careful in future. I've largely refrained from commenting throughout the incident, but of course have my own opinions. I hope you enjoy the week of fresh air in the mountains, and don't think about Wikipedia. Black Sabbath

Hey thanks man, good to be back at it. I think I am going to tackle Sabbath next, I do have a book called Wheels of Confusion by Steven Rosen, I am going to check out again- I remember it being pretty thorough for the older stuff, but not so much for the Tony Martin era. And the writer only really interviewed Bill Ward... but the base stuff is all there. Anyway, with their long ass history I'm sure it will be a challenge - but they deserve a FA, the inventors of metal! I'm gonna start researching today, finding interview archives and stuff, and I'llsee what I can dig up. And by the way, what webzine are you working on? Anything posted yet? Hey dude, this may be hard to see in the "sea of image tags" (which look like they have been pretty much taken care of, anyway) but I started in on the "meat" of the Black Sabbath article, rewriting everything - I am up to Master of Reality now. I found a few good sources, the Rolling Stone and AMG biographies are suprisingly good, and I found another site that archives old newspaper clippings and stuff on Sabbath: [1] - click "memorabilia" or "more articles & links" for scans and stuff. I still haven't dug out the Wheels of Confusion book, but I plan to get on that this weekend. Once I get this thing up to par, I hope that you can take a look at everything and add your "expertise" with a CE and the like. Right on man, I had a quick look at the Arch Enemy interview you have up at the webzine page - nice work! I had no idea that they are gona re-record stuff from the Johan era - those are my favorite albums, and the best era of AE, IMO. His stuff is criminaly underrated, maybe that will bring attention to those albums, tho. Anyway, I am still working Sabbath(up to Technical Ecstasy now) and I can already tell its gona be a long ass article by the time I am done... although it is a little "quote-y" - and I need to go through and highlight a little more drug stuff(as it comes to a head with Ozzy's firing later)there are just so many good ones in this book! Yeah, I've always thought that a bigger project would not only be more useful for the encyclopedia, but be a far more viable FA. I dunno- I get bored of writing bigger articles. I get bored writing about the same topic, even- that's why I bounce around. I got sick to the back teeth of Devourment, and a featured article (especially one on a bigger band) would take longer even than that. Another problem with the bigger projects is that the sources are often not available- they often predate when the Internet was widely used. I'll take a look around- though I don't want to say it (hating the band) I think Trivium is an article I could consider- I got myself involved by chance, and now it isn't bad thanks to Asics (who I haven't seen in ages) and just needs a push.
