This article is difficult to even call an article. All topics of relevance were mentioned yet none were explored. When looking at the references, its easy to tell why- the only source is from a dictionary. Therefore, the entire page is simply a dictionary entry from Oxford Dictionary with more important topics linked to certain words. It was just kind of surprising to see so little regarding lamellae in the perspective of cellular biology, and would be frustrating if I were trying to research the topic. As with any other organelle, lamellae are important to biological systems, yet there was only a slight reference to their functions in the chloroplasts of plant cells. also, there was only one sentence referring to lamellae in the lipid membranes of cells, which have been found to affect the permeability and stiffness of cellular membranes. Overall, the page just needs more information.
