From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Central NJ BRT is a proposed bus rapid transit system in Central New Jersey. It will run on abandoned rail lines and new busways, connecting major transit hubs and small towns in the area. It would operate using a fleet of clean-energy buses, with some routes using battery-electric buses, and some routes using dual-mode buses.

Electric Bus Chargers[edit]

Due to some routes being rather long, some buses would have 5-minute layovers at certain places to recharge the batteries. Note: not all buses would use all chargers (Ex: An electric bus operating southbound on the CJM wouldn't use all four chargers, it would only use the one at Highstown.)

Destination Signs[edit]

The buses would have full-color destination signs, which would first display the line name and branch name, then the destination.

As an example, the 195 Line would be:

To Belmar:

CENTRAL JERSEY BRT - 195 LINE
195 BELMAR STATION

To Highstown:

CENTRAL JERSEY BRT - 195 LINE
195 HIGHSTOWN CTR

The only exception would be the Six Flags Shuttle, which would simply say:

SIX FLAGS SHUTTLE
