Fire Roasted Coffee is a coffee roastery located in London, Ontario. It was established in 2007 by Dave Cook[1]. Fire Roasted Coffee’s mandate is based on the need for “everyone to benefit from coffee.” All of Fire Roasted Coffee's coffee is Fair Trade certified, with over fifty varieties[2]. They have three cafés in London as well as one mobile café able to provide coffee at local events. Their coffee is offered at other stores around London, including Western University[3].

Coffee

Fire Roasted Coffee approximately 50 different types of beans that the roast, 20 are created to be decaf[4]. The beans are all roasted in London. Fire Roasted Coffee imports most of its coffee from other countries, many located in, Africa, South America, and Central America. They offer “single origin” beans which are one type of bean all roasted the same way, as well as house blends and specialty coffees. There also green beans, which are beans that have not yet been roasted[5].

Fire Roasted Coffee is certified fair trade, however 90% of their coffee is considered fair trade. The other 10% is created in a way considered better than fair-trade[6].

Cafés

Fire Roasted Coffee sells its coffee The Roastery is located at the Western Fair Grounds Farmers’ Market in the Confederation Building. This is where the beans are roasted as well as available for wholesale. The second café has been running since 2013 at the corner of King Street and Talbot Street, named the "King Café". The King Café also serves beer and wine. A third café, the "Wortley Café" opened in 2014 in Wortley Village. The Mobile café is used in the spring and summer months at farmers’ markets and rented out for personal events[7].

Habitual Chocolate is a sister company to Fire Roasted, founded in 2010. The chocolate is produced from cocao beans in Woodstock, Ontario and London, Ontario. The Chocolate can be bought in stores in London, Woodstock, Dundas, Ontario, Barrie, Ontario, and Montreal, Quebec[8].
