Maltrópa (Klingonese: Borkborkbork) is a Wikipedian from Cork, Ireland. He likes a lot of stuff, but he studied history and geography at undergraduate level and holds an MSc in Applied Coastal and Marine Management. He is currently working towards a PhD in ecclesiastical history.

As regards his Wikiing, Maltrópa was an administrator on the now-defunct but once well-attended EU3Wiki, and has been an occasional contributor on various fan wikis. He also helps administrate the best of several wikis for NationStates. His membership on Wikipedia is recent and accidental, as he did not realise an account on the Irish-language Wikipedia [ga] would tie in with Wikipedia. This had the possibly-fortunate side effect of prompting him to engage in more frequent edits, though rarely contributing beyond grammatical corrections and cleaning up inconsistencies within articles.

Maltrópa's areas of expertise, if he were forced to refer to his specialisations as such, are in cartography, medieval (ecclesiastical) histories, geographies and histories of pilgrimage and marine geographies, though his interests are eclectic and hectic and sometimes too vague to pin down.

He also does not know how to end an article or any other piece of writing.
