Political movement

I didn't actually nominate it; I was just moving the collaboration-of-the-week notice from the article to the talk page, to comply with the usual Wikipedia practice for such tags. The person who originally added the notice seemed insistent on doing things their own way in many regards, so it's possible they never bothered to make the nomination itself (and if your high standards for writing are offended by "they" as a gender-neutral singular, I apologize). --Michael Snow 19:41, 6 September 2005 (UTC)

Girl - table

That didn't quite work in my browser, Firefox - the text got squashed to the left. May I suggest you make a table containing the contents box, and the two photos, while you leave the definition text above it? Thanks, --Janke | Talk 06:26:51, 2005-09-09 (UTC)

  • No panic! If you can find a way to get a nice layout without too much whitespace, that would be great! (Just checked - looks pretty good now!) As for animation (and comics) - that would be worth looking into, Manga, etc. - but I'm no expert there. My contributions are only in the suggested photos, you've seen some of my uploads on the gallery page (I think the little girl in the amusement ride car might be funny, as a counterpoint in gender roles... ;-) PS: Try the __TOC__ and __NOTOC__ commands if you want to affect the Contents box...       • Well unfortunately, Raul reverted my changes with this note (copied from his talk page, in response to my query about why he did so...) "Your solution didn't look bad in my browser actually, but (as a general rule) you want to avoid html and complex table layouts (like you had) because (a) they tend to break on some browsers, and (B) while they might look good on Wikipedia, they tend not to transfer well to other wikis. →Raul654" I guess I'll defer to his experience, although it rankles a bit... Esperanza made less bureaucratic

Hello again, I have (unilatterly) taken away the 'assembly' idea, as per my reasons at that edit summary and per Wikipedia talk:Esperanza/Charter. I have left the admin general, as some leadership is good. Now, all you have to do is be a member to establish consensus, the whole assembly idea is gone. Also, I have added an advisory committee, of four members, with limited power besides watching over the admin general and making sure he doesn't do anything stupid. Thanks for your note. I have to admit it confused me, as I hadn't intended to participate in WP:COTW, but had just happened to be editing that article around that time. I think the article could use alot more work (it even has a dispute header at the moment), but at least it has some nice images, which was what I was there for at the time.
