Dennis Moon is a fictional character from the soap opera Mancetter, played by Jake Fisher. Owen was introduced by executive producer John Smith and made his first appearance in the episode “18 October 1998”. Fisher opted out of the role in series 2002, and made his departure in the episode “8 April 2002”. Fisher proved popular in the role, winning multiple awards and critical acclaim for his portrayal of Dennis as the character became prominent in the show.

During his tenure in the soap, Dennis was featured in high-profile storylines, such as a wedding to villainous Mandy Moon (Molly Eve) to mark the Millennium Eve celebrations on the New Year's Eve 1999 episode; despite leaving her at the alter, he eventually married her and a problematic and dangerous marriage followed; a one-night stand with Mandy's nemesis Katie Yates (Megan McDean); and a close relationship with his sister Mel Moon (Lara Hammond). Writers also placed Dennis at the centre of a huge storyline in series 2001, when he is kidnapped by his psychopathic father Johnny Moon (Paul Daniels) after choosing Mandy over him.

During the series 2017 premiere, it was announced that Fisher would be returning to the soap, and Dennis made his return in the episode “17 November 2017”. Upon his return, Dennis showed a darker villainous side. Storylines included a relationship with Rachel Cousins (Emily Hunter), conning Daniel Hood (Kyle Simpson) out of his business, a feud with Robbie Clarkson (Adam Wright) and most prominently his over-protective relationship with his daughter Tamzin Moon (Rebecca Springs), and eventually coping with her death.

Fisher’s second departure from the show was announced during the series 2019 premiere, and Dennis’s final storyline consisted of blackmailing Robbie when he discovers that he has been having an affair. Owen decides to tell his wife Katie, but crashes his car and he is ultimately killed-off.
