Marc Ross Huckless is an American duly sworn, state certified Law Enforcement Officer for Old Dominion University. He was born October 25, 1970 at Fort Dix Army Hospital in Burlington County, New Jersey. Marc Ross Huckless joined the Old Dominion University Police Force in October of 1993 as a patrol officer. Today Marc Ross Huckless is the Senior Police Sergeant and heads up the DMV Traffic Safety Grant for the Old Dominion University Police Department in Norfolk, Virginia. In 1997 Sergeant Huckless created the department's first website-homepage which provided instant information about campus safety and police services at Old Dominion. In 2007, Huckless took the same website information on campus safety and created a short 5 minute youtube video and a Facebook account. These two sites provided photos and basic information on the services of the police department. During the years of 2000-2012 Sergeant Huckless was the community relations officer for the police department. Sergeant Huckless was a member of the National Crime Prevention Association and use to meet monthly with area law enforcement officers to discuss crime prevention and community policing issues; however, in 2012 Sergeant Huckless transferred out of the Community Relations Unit and is now the current night shift sergeant and DMV Traffic Safety Grant Manager for the department. Marc Ross Huckless motto is to: "Drive safe and wear your seat belt at all times". Sgt. Marc Huckless will continue his career as a Law Enforcement Officer with Old Dominion University and is scheduled to retire from the police department in October of 2020.
