Hysterical Paroxysm Hysterical Paroxysm is a now-defunct treatment for Female Hysteria (Link) commonly used in Europe and the United States. However, references to Hysterical Paroxysm are found as far back as ancient Greece (Site Needed). Hysterical Paroxysm was induced through the stimulation of a woman’s genitals and/or pelvic region using hands, water or medical devices such as a vibrator. The procedure was often conducted by a doctor or midwife, with occasional assistance from the patient’s husband[1]. ...
