User:Martijn Hoekstra/infobox recommendations

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I would like to propose the following amendments to the infoboxes case. The intention is to prevent disruption and edit-warring while restricting productive behaviour as little as possible.

I recommend that the following remedy supersedes remedy 1.1 of the original case

Andy restricted[edit]

Andy is prohibited from adding infoboxes to articles from which they were previously removed. Andy is also prohibited from taking part in any discussion on whether an infobox should be included in a specific article. Listing or taking part in any discussion at templates for discussion is explicitly not in violation of this restriction. Making any edits that does not change whether or not there is an infobox on a page is explicitly not in violation of this restriction.

I recommend the following additional remedies

Andy reminded[edit]

Andy is reminded that edit warring is detrimental to the encyclopedia

Andy encouraged[edit]

Andy is encouraged to explain his reasoning in greater detail if he is under the impression that his arguments are not understood.

1RR for templates[edit]

Andy is limited to making a single revert of any edit that involves changing, adding or removing a template or its invocation per page in a 24 hour period, except in cases of obvious vandalism or obvious BLP violations. For the scope of this remedy, in any case an editor in good standing disagrees something is vandalism, the edit is not obvious vandalism. In any case an editor in good standing disagrees something is a BLP violation, the edit is not an obvious BLP violation
