The A Level programme at Southshore, commencing in September 2004, offers students the opportunity to select from a wide range of subjects. Further, to ensure that students gain valuable perspective beyond the classroom, the programme of studies includes a variety of learning modules. Students may choose modules related to the arts, the outdoors, internships, foreign language, writing, intellectual exploits and more.

Campus

[edit]

Southshore began at the Clifton campus in 2004 and in Summer 2008 moved to a 2000 square yard, purpose built campus in DHA Phase VIII that includes 14 classrooms, laboratories, state of the art library, study rooms, student common room and more.

Admissions and Financial Aid Policies

[edit]

Applications for admission are accepted after O-Level results are available in early August with A1 classes commencing around September 1st. Candidates may download application materials from the website or obtain them at the school office. Admission to Southshore is highly competitive and is based on the Admissions Committee's review of academic performance (school and O-Level), Principal and Teacher recommendations, extracurricular activities and personal interviews.

The Board of Directors believes that financial limitations should not prevent a qualified candidate from attending Southshore. Therefore, Southshore does not offer scholarships based on academic merit, choosing to focus scholarship assistance towards families with genuine financial need. Candidates who apply for financial assistance are considered for admission on a need blind basis, which means that their scholarship application does not play any part in the admissions decision. Southshore makes every attempt to meet the demonstrated need of its accepted students who have completed an application for financial assistance.
