Navodaya Movement started in 2012 in Mumbai. In the following years, operations were expanded to various states of India, especially Kerala. Active in Kerala since 2016. It has been functioning as a society registered in the state of Kerala in 2019. Thomas Mar Tithos Episcoppa, the founder of the Neodaya Movement, currently serves as its president. The role played by the current metropolitan in spreading the Navodaya Movement in various parts of India and growing it into an organized movement is huge. Joseph Marthoma Metropolitan took special interest and initiative and this movement became a traditional activity of the Marthoma Church. The Marthoma Church Council is governed by its supreme body and an executive committee consisting of 14 elected and nominated members. A clergyman officiating the synod acts as secretary and the secretary of the congregation acts as the incumbent. The transgender community is the one that goes through the most traumatic and complex experiences of those around us. Individuals in this category are those who are constantly in conflict between body and mind, and between personality and performance. The churches and the community were very reluctant to accept such people. Mar Thoma Navodaya Movement was started in 2012 with the aim of respecting and honouring the transgender community by embracing the marginalized. Mar Thoma Church is always like a bird flying ahead. It was exemplary in the churches of Kerala as it was the first among them.
