The wikipedian known as matiash (and alternatively by his full name, Matias Hernandez) lives in Montevideo, Uruguay. He works at ARTech (creators of GeneXus) as a software developer, and also teaches the Compilers and Theory of Computation courses at the Univerisidad Católica del Uruguay.

Matias has a wide range of interests in obscure and seemingly unrelated areas, such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Science Fiction, Literature, Artificial Intelligence, Comics (especially Peanuts), adventure games, Evolution, Anime, aviation, Logic (particularly paradoxes and logic puzzles) and British humor (primarily Monty Python and everything by Douglas Adams).

His activities as a wikipedian are not of a very advanced level. As of September 2005 he has written only one full article (on GeneXus) and most of his edits so far are corrections of syntax, style or spelling mistakes in the articles he has browsed. However, he is an ardent fan of the wikipedia, constantly praising it and recommending it (some would say badgering) to friends and colleagues, and hopes to take a more active role in the near future.

He seems to be somewhat mentally unstable, but not to the point of actually being dangerous. Born in 1979, a fervent atheist and having recently graduated from University, he is still pondering his future.
