Bailey Sok

Bailey Sok (born February 24, 2004)[1] is an American dancer, born and raised in California. She is well known for her presence on social media and her appearances on competition television, such as World of Dance and America's Got Talent. She has worked with various celebrities through both performative roles and choreographing their work. She has amassed millions of views through her work online.

Sok was born in California. She has stated that she is of Korean heritage, is the daughter of Judie Sok and is siblings with Britney and Kylie Sok. [2] Sok began dancing at the age of 3. While waiting for her sisters to complete their dance classes, their instructors said that Bailey should enroll in a class as well.[3] In an interview with Miss Bish online blog, she has said that when she is not dancing, she enjoys golfing, cooking, baking, scrapbooking, and being with family.[4][3]

Career

Sok was trained under Matt Steffanina and Molly Long at the Millenium Dance Studio.[5] While dancing with the dance group Dance Precision and Just Plain Dancin', she scored the highest in the school's history. Sok has trained in many styles of dance; however, she specializes in Hip Hop. Her first award at a national competition was in 2012 at KAR (Claremont), where she won 3rd place in her division of 8 and under solos.[6] She holds several dance titles, such as winning the Rising Star of the Year award for Arena Awards in 2019.[1]

Professional Career

Sok made her first appearance on-screen on season 9 of America's Got Talent with the dance group Buns & Roses and has competed on World of Dance season 2 and 4 with dance group S-rank in the upper division and with partner Kida the Great in the juniors division. While dancing with team S-Rank, she was the youngest member of the team at 13-years old.[7][8] While on team S-Rank, they made it to the finals of their divisions, and while partnering with Kida the Great, they reached the semi-finals.[9][10]

Sok has danced with Janet Jackson, KSI, Meghan Trainor, Alessia Cara, Jason Derulo, Marshmello, and more. [11][12] Sok has also choreographed and taught around the world; she began teaching at the age of 14. She uses some of her teaching opportunities to support charities such as the Australian Red Cross.[13] She is the youngest choreographer to teach a class at Fair Play Dance Camp in Kracow, Poland.[14] She has choreographed for Kpop group Red Velvet to their song "Psycho," and Jang Seoyoung's music video "Empire," and has done several collaborations of choreographing with Disney such as a Descendents 3 and Dance On collaboration in 2019.[15][16][17]

In addition to dancing, Sok's repertoire includes acting in Zoe Valentine as character Viv Anderson, The Neighborhood Kiddos, To the Pointe with Kyrsten Burtt, and Marseille Mondays.[18]

Social Media Presence

Sok has amassed a substantial following on various social media platforms. As of April 2021, she has over 1.5 million followers on Instagram and Tik Tok.[19] Sok has also made popular appearances on various Youtube videos, her choreographed video K/DA - POP/STARS has over 400 million views. A video she is featured in with Matt Steffanina where they dance to Jason Derulo's song "Tip Toe" has amassed over 24 million views.[20][21]
