Alessio Avezzano (born October 15th, 1983) is a Scottish/Italian film maker and writer, mostly known for his collaboration with the Glasgow folk-pop group, Bear Bones.

Filmmaker[edit]

Alessio's directorial debut was The Road To Ritual^[1], a documentary about Girlsplayboys, a rock band from Glasgow and their surreal trip to Los Angeles to record with former Guns N' Roses member, Gilby Clarke. The documentary also featured collaborator, Joby Ford (The Bronx (band))

Swedish For Hello^[2], Alessio's first short film was nominated for 'best international short film' by the International Film Festival Ireland (IFFI) 2009 ^[3]. It did however, pick up the 'film of the year award' at the Glasgow Media Access Centre's (GMAC) Big Flick award 2009 ^[4].

Now under his label 'Live Circus ^[5],' Alessio went on to write, direct and produce two music videos ^[6] for the Glasgow folk-pop band, Bear Bones ^[7]. Two videos, each with wildly different artistic style, touching sentimentally and comedic surrealism.

Writer[edit]

Alessio is the creator of 'Crafty Wee Bastards ^[8].' Non-fictional short stories, based on his childhood adventures growing up in Glasgow.

Actor[edit]

Alessio has performed small roles as an actor in all of his work and was cast ^[9] in the 2009 Scottish feature Running In Traffic. A film that won numerous awards including the Apollo Award for Excellence in Norway and the BAFTA Scotland New Talent Award in 2009 for Producing.
