The Three Thieves is a wine & travel television show that aired on The Cooking Channel January 27, 2011 at 8PM eastern. The show has re-air dates of Jan 29th, Jan 30th, Feb 1st, Feb 12th, Feb 20th, Feb 23rd, Feb 25th & Feb 26th, all in 2011. [1]

The show follows three guys known as "The Three Thieves" as they travel to Chile to find their next wine for their line of wines in the United States called "The Show". Along the way, they visit Valparaiso to take in the local customs. They meet Chilean Supermodel Carolina Parsons in Santiago and learn about Chile's wine regions in Colchagua, BioBio, & the Leyda Valley.

Who are the Three Thieves?

Joel Gott, Ranked #19 on 2004's Food & Wine Magazine's most fearsome talents in Food & Wine. [2]Joel & his brother Duncan are owners of Gott's Roadside in St. Helena, Napa & San Francisco[3]. Gott's Roadside, previously know as Taylor's Refresher, won a 2006 James Beard award. [4] in 1998 Joel & his wife Sara started their own wine brand called Joel Gott Wines. [5] In 2009, Joel Gott wines formed a joint venture with Trinchero Family Estates to do sales & distribution globally. [6] Joel Gott Wines have won praise from the Wine Enthusiast & Robert Parker of the Wine Advocate. The 1997 Joel Gott Dillian Ranch Zinfandel scored 89 points with Mr. Parker.[7] The Wine Advocate also rated the GOTT 6 Napa Valley Cab 89 points,[8] GOTT 7 Napa Valley Cab 91 points, [9] GOTT 8 Napa Valley Cab 92 points.[10] The March 2011 Wine Enthusiast also rated the Joel Gott 2009 Un-Oaked Chardonnay 90 points.[11]

Charles Bieler was named one of Food & Wine Magazine's Top 40 big food thinkers and under 40 in 2010. [12] Charles has many projects currently on going. He makes Charles & Charles Red & Rose with K Vintners Charles Smith. [13] He works on a Mezcal with Master sommelier Richard Betts called Sombra. [14] He is also working on a project that puts "Wine in Kegs" called The Gotham Project Riesling.[15]He also has a French Rose project called Bieler Pere et Fils. [16] Charles has run the New York City Marathon twice. in 2008, he finished #345 overall with a time of 02:48:45 [17] and finished #240 overall in the 2010 New York City Marathon with a time of 02:46:47. [18]

Roger Scommegna was a co founder of Realtor.com [19]. After leaving realtor.com, Roger planted Signal Ridge Vineyard in Mendocino County, California & became a partner in the Boonville Hotel[20]. Roger is also developing several new brands, Black Dot Vodka & Bite Hard Cider.[21]

The Three Thieves Brands

The Three Thieves (Gott, Bieler, Scommegna) started their brand in 2002 with the goal to "Liberate World Class Wine."[22]. Their first release was a 2002 California Zinfandel in a 1L "Retro Jug". [23] In March of 2005, The Three Thieves signed a marketing & distribution pact with Trinchero Family Estates. [24] In April of 2005, The Three Thieves were the first company to introduce wine in 1L Tetra Briks in the United States, called Bandit Wines. [25]. In 2007, The Three Thieves launched a new wine called "The Show" with labels created by Hatch Show Print of Nashville, TN. [26] Also in 2007, The Three Thieves partnered with Newman's Own to create Newman's Own Cabernet & Chardonnay. [27]
