Canadian mockumentary. A takeoff of the BBC's 1957 Spaghetti-tree hoax, with groves of trees bearing withered hockey pucks.

Early wok by Lorne Michaels (producer Saturday Night Live The Kids in the Hall (TV series) (from 1989 to 1995) and The Tonight Show) with Hart Pomerantz (The Hart and Lorne Terrific Hour) https://nationalpost.com/news/toronto/toronto-lawyer-flirted-with-career-in-comedy-thanks-to-fateful-call-from-lorne-michaels

https://flatlanderfaith.com/2015/08/12/wednesday-morning-gripe-session/ not a useful ref but published 2015 and says "About forty years ago, CBC television did a news report on Dutch Puck Disease." so ca. 1975? Also mentions that Bobby Orr was one of the hockey players interviewed.

Seems likely that this was actually from the The Hart and Lorne Terrific Hour which ran from 1970–71, or their earlier work together. Yes, per Earl Pomerantz's blog http://earlpomerantz.blogspot.com/2011/09/puck-crisis.html this was from the show, and was called "The Puck Crisis". A few more details here http://earlpomerantz.blogspot.com/2012/07/another-short-film-i-wrote.html?m=0

Found a excerpt clip! https://www.vulture.com/2014/04/watch-some-clips-from-lorne-michaelss-early-70s-canadian-sketch-show.html see clip at 3:45. Derek Sanderson, Bobby Baun interviewed. Quite possible that the "Bobby Orr" mentioned on flatlanderfaith.com was actually Bobby Baun, since both were worried about not being able to score any more goals.
