Havana Heat is an 2012 Canadian action thriller suspense film, directed by Dean Hamilton, and by Hamilton and Ken Gord,[1][2][3][4][5] the film will star Wesley Snipes, Joseph Lawrence, Michael Dudikoff, Heath Herring, Zulay Henao, Lorena Rincon, Raul Julia Jr., and Nicholas Brown.[6]

Plot[edit]

After a Homeland Security agent assigned to the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base is murdered in Havana, CID agent Sean Franklin (Joseph Lawrence) and his partner, NCIS agent Brianna Evans (Zulay Henao) are sent to Gitmo to investigate the crime. During the same timeframe as their investigation,there is a planned heavyweight title fight between America's Ruben Palace and Cuba’s Kid Carlos. An international incident occurs when a girl Ruben was seen with is herself found dead. The two agents team up with Cuban police force detective Aguillerra to investigate the two crimes.

Production[edit]

Empire Film Group announced the beginning of pre-production in December 2007.[7] When Variety announced in August 2010 that Joey Lawrence had been signed to the project, it was also announced that Wesley Snipes, Michael Dudikoff, Heath Herring, Zulay Henao, Lorena Rincon, Raul Julia-Levy, and Nicholas Brown had been signed as well.[8][5]

Principle filming began in Columbia on May 2, 2011 and completed June 24, 2011.
