Article Evaluation[edit]

Alzheimer's Association[edit]

  • Although there wasn't a great deal of information I think what was presented stayed relevant to the article topic.
  • Something that distracted me was the layout of the article, particularly the contents and Alzheimer's Association photo on the right hand side. I think both could have been placed elsewhere and perhaps near one another. The placement of both make the information below seem disconnected, visually speaking.
  • I thought the article was neutral. The content showcased facts that I believe weren't biased toward a particular position.
  • The advocacy portion as well as the Alzheimer's Association international conference both came off as underrepresented. Both could have gone into more detail.
  • All of the links work and contain information that support the claims in the article, except for one. The last link from the New York Times does mention Rita Hayworth and the Rita Hayworth Gala but lack's any important information compared to the other links.
  • Each fact is referenced with an appropriate and reliable reference. A few of the references are from the New York Times which is often associated with the left center bias.
  • The information appears to be up to date, but I do think there are some things missing. A major portion of the article are the events that support the Alzheimer's Association. On the Alzheimer's Association website you're able to find a walk "near you". This is something that should be presented on the Wiki page due to the fact that a lot of funding comes from these events.
  • On the talk page there is a suggestion to merge the Alzheimer's Impact Movement article with the Alzheimer's Association. The merge seems appropriate and could add to the emphasis of each considering they are sister organizations.
  • The way Wikipedia discusses this topic is similar to our conversations in class. The article tries to stay away from biases as well as incorporating information from different sources. The article lacks a sufficient set up, especially with the use of photos. As we briefly talked about in class it's a good idea to include photos but in the appropriate places.
