User:Microtonal/List of Bach cantatas by liturgical function

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is a list of cantatas by Johann Sebastian Bach in order of their intended use in the Lutheran liturgical calendar. The name of each cantata is followed by its BWV number and the date of its first performance, insofar as it can be determined.

Roman numerals refer to the number of sundays after the named occasion. For example, "Advent III" is the third Sunday after Advent.
