Desired Effects[edit]

By November 30th, 2012 the U.S. Canada Education Working Group Legal Process ensures the Working Group has sufficient legal counsel (advice and services) necessary to prepare achieve Phase I objectives, generate specific structural recommendation and execute actions necessary to move into Phase I and beyond.

Activities[edit]

The main work of this committee will begin after the working group has established a proposed structure, and has identified such specific legal work as may be needed (e.g. for incorporating as a 501c3).

Recommendations[edit]

The Legal Process Task Force will develop a plan for getting the appropriate legal services, and will explore whether the Wikimedia Foundation will permit (and pay for) its attorneys to provide services to the Working Group. The Task Force will also identify alternative possibilities for legal services, with cost information, and make a recommendation to the Working Group.
