GW POV tag[edit]

Hi

I understand your reasoning for tagging Global warming, but be aware that this discussion has been going on for years (just have a brief glance through the enormous talk page archives) and it is difficult to see any version of this article being accepted as NPOV by all editors. The dispute is mainly about how the subject should be handled, either as a description of the science (as it is now) or whether it should give equal weight to the controversy (which of course has its own article Global warming controversy). In its current state it contains a lot of information sourced to the peer-reviewed scientific literature. Attempts to introduce information (generally about the controversy) that is not sourced this way are routinely reverted, which gets a lot of editors' backs up, hence the 'talk page from hell' as I personally think of it. Wikipedia:NPOV dispute says that adding such a tag "is a temporary measure", intending to lead to a resolution in a reasonable timeframe. As I've argued above, that isn't going to happen here, so I question whether the tag is actually appropriate in this case.
