Punctum californicum, or ribbed spot snail, is a species of minute air-breathing land snail, a terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusk in the family Punctidae, the dot snails.
Shell Description[edit]
The shell of Punctum californicum may reach a diameter of up to 1.85mm. It has four closely revolving whorl. The narrow, deep umbilicus is less than one quarter of the shell's total diameter. The aperture is wider than high and roundly lunate. The outerr shell surface has a sculpture of small, even striae.[1]
Distribution[edit]
P. californicum is found from Montana and South Dakota, south to Arizona and southern California.[2]
