Minsung Cho (조민성) (1998-04-26 –present) is a Korean-born American software engineer. He contributed to autonomous driving technology core onboard software development and has expertise on embedded software, vehicle-to-cloud, and operating systems.
Biography
[edit]Early life
[edit]Minsung was born in April 26th, 1998 in Seoul, South Korea. He was raised by a protestant pastor father and a fashion designer mother with a younger brother and a younger sister. From his infancy to toddler age, he was raised in Seongbuk District. Then his family moved to Gimpo providence until the 1st grade at Seokjung Elementary School . From 2nd grade to graduation, he attended Seoul Namsan Elementary School .
Childhood
[edit]His father did not send him to a middle school and instead tried multiple alternative education methods. The first few months after elementary school, he was admitted to language academies to learn Japanese and Chinese. His father took him to a Chinese-speaking school to admit him but he did not speak a word of Chinese in front of the principal because he did not want to go to that school. Later, he was shortly admitted to Hyoshin International Alternative School where he learned English, band music, theatre, and Christian education. His family moved to Godeok-dong for a year after living in Jung-gu for 7 years while his father served at Youngnak Presbyterian Church During the time, he passed the Korean GED and was admitted to Seoul Digital University (BS) at the age of 14.
Adolescence in the United States
[edit]Him and his family moved to California for his father's post-doc in theology at Fuller_Theological_Seminary. He moved to Chino_Hills,_California and attended Chino Hills High School until the end of Junior year. He injured his Adductor_magnus_muscle while trying out for the soccer team and was a part of the swim team, choir class, theatre class, and AP classes.
