  1. ^ Simpson 1952 — amazon.com
  2. ^ Simpson 1965 — amazon.com. I wonder if pp 256 is a typo for pp 236?
  3. ^ Simpson 1979c — amazon.com
Amazon groups this with Simpson 1952. Title and different page numbers indicate the rerelease of the first edition.
Malaspina Great Books entry says "Reprint of the 1952 ed. published by Dent, London."
But Barnes & Noble list a copy from 1989 - ISBN-13: 9780883557150 with the old title.
    Alibris list it from 1979 with ISBN: 0883557150, ISBN-13: 9780883557150, so I think B&N is a misprunt.

a. ^ a b Mogensen (1992b, pp. 96–97) illustrates these figurines.
b. ^ Fanning (1997, pp. 56–57) quotes Carl Nielsen's diary from 2 March 1891: "Miss Brodersen is actually quite pretty", together with a contemporary photograph of the young artist, which can also be seen in the Odense City Museums picture gallery.
