Artolution Artolution is an international non-profit organization with an aim to create collaborative and empowering art in distressed communities around the world. The name Arolution is suggesting a revolution and a solution with and through the arts.[1]Artolution has ties to local artists around the world that are trained to carry on projects once Joel and Max leave the community. This extension of Arolution's work makes the model more sustainable and allows for lasting impact on communities.[2] ...

Projects Artolution's co-directors, Joel and Max, have travelled to 30 countries to work on the organization's various projects.[3] Projects have included side by side murals by Israeli and Palestinian youth, work in Syrian refugee camps in the Middle East, and work in juvenile detention centers in the U.S. Artolution has also travelled to areas of Kenya, India, and Brazil.[4] While all focused on community building and collaboration, projects have more specific themes such as trauma relief or raising awareness about gender equality or environmental sustainability among others.[5] The 'Foundstrument Soundstrument' project created by Max Frieder is centered around environmental sustainability; participants collect and decorate trash and local recycled materials to creative an interactive percussion instrument, demonstrating the possibility to reuse.[6]
