Air Indus (Pvt) Ltd. is an upcoming private airline of Pakistan with its headquarters based in Karachi. Air Indus will start up operations in the near future and will serve over 14 domestic destinations with plans to expand its network to international destinations covering Asia, Europe and North America. Air Indus will establish its hub in Karachi - Jinnah International Airport with focus cities at Islamabad - Benazir Bhutto International Airport and Lahore - Allama Iqbal International Airport.
History
[edit]In 2011 Air Indus was granted a license to operate as a scheduled domestic carrier by the Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan. The airline has completely established its infrastructure and is currently in negotiations with several companies for lease as well as purchase of aircraft.
Corporate Management
[edit]Air Indus is owned by a Group of Companies that have a background in the industrial, automotive and the hospitality sectors. The Group of Companies include Metal Engineering Complex (Pvt.) Ltd., Cylinders Engineering Industries (Pvt.) Ltd., Indus Rice mills (Pvt.) Ltd., Karakoram Motors (Pvt.) Ltd and The Southend Club (Pvt.) Ltd. The Chairman of the Group is Mr. Abdul Wahab and the Managing Director is Mr. Abdul Wahid and both have been associated with business/industry for over 20 years.
Planned Fleet
[edit]Air Indus is currently in the process of acquiring up to five Boeing 737 300/400/500 series aircraft in order to meet its immediate requirements.

Services

[edit]Air Indus has acquired a web based Airline Reservation System which allows passengers to make and manage their booking via the internet. Moreover, passengers may make reservations through Air Indus authorized travel agents through-out Pakistan. Air Indus is in the process of establishing selling outlets in all major cities of Pakistan where trained staff will be available to offer assistance.
Check-in
[edit]Passengers may check-in for their flight 3 hours before its scheduled departure. This can be done at the Air Indus check-in counters at the airport. Passengers may also use the web check-in option to allocate their seats, check-in for a flight and obtain an online boarding pass in advance. At certain airports kerb-side check-in will be available.
Training
[edit]Air Indus has a training classroom that is approved by [Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan] and conducts training of cabin crew. Comprehensive training is provided on Flight Service subjects, Safety & Emergency Procedures (SEP), crew grooming and dangerous goods. The classroom also imparts training in non CAA licensed subjects including catering, marketing and traffic handling.
Frequent Flyer Program
[edit]The Air Indus frequent flyer program is called "Indus Miles". There are four 3 tiers of Indus Miles memberships - Silver, Gold and Platinum. Each tier offers various privileges including priority check-in, priority boarding, priority standby and extra baggage allowance, free award tickets and discounts at various outlets. Indus Miles can be accrued by traveling on Air Indus flights, as well through partners.
