History[edit]

The village is mostly inhabited by Pakhtuns (Mominpuri) of the Sarbani tribe from Kandahar province of Afghanistan. The village was given to them by the Yousafzai during the year (1650~1660) and was established 225 years later, during the rule of the Mughal Emperor (Shah Jahan) in the year (1885) but there are a few other tribes living amongst them respectively. The villagers used Pashto as their mother tongue back in the old days but over the years they switched to Hindko as their dominant language yet you will still find some speaking in Pashto.
