The Catholic Church teaches that since "truth cannot ever contradict truth," then "there can never be any contradiction between faith and reason."[1]

Fides et Ratio encyclical (1998)[edit]

On September 14, 1998, Pope John Paul II published the encyclical Fides et Ratio[2] discussing the relationship between faith and reason in the Catholic Church.
