Why Am I Here[edit]
For the past several years I have wanted to contribute to Wikipedia, but I have been afraid that I do not have any real or substantial contributions to make. Like many other wikipedia readers I have assumed a back seat role I donate annually but I have never considered myself to be sophisticated enough to add my knowledge or areas of passion to such an important resource like Wikipedia.
After reading a post from the Wikimedia Foundation's, Executive Director, Sue Gardner about the decline of editors on Wikipedia I decided this was my chance to help. Wikipedia is after all the people's encyclopedia and I want it to be available to future generations to use freely like I have for so many years.
This being said, I know I am not an expert, I am going to make some mistakes, but I am here to help. So please help me to help make Wikipedia a better and more robust resource.
Today is my official start day on Wikipedia and I hope to find my first edit today, I am excited and nervous this is truly exhilarating.
