The Hilltop Microfinance Initiative, commonly know as "HMFI", is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization registered in Washington, D.C. that aims to empower individuals by promoting financial independence and economic growth in and around the DMV area. Offering small business loans, personalized business consulting sessions, and credit-builder loans to low-income entrepreneurs who are unable to access capital in the formal financial system, HMFI has served more than 80 clients, and distributed more than $20,000 in loans up-to-date.[1]
