Many Wikipedians favor the Bold, Revert, Discuss cycle of editing. Editors are encouraged to be bold with their contributions, and go ahead and edit wherever they think they can help. If someone disagrees, they are free to revert your changes. Once a change has been made and then undone, editors engage in a discussion about the change, until everyone reaches a consensus.

When you're editing, make sure to bear in mind that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and content is written from a neutral point of view. Information comes from reliable published sources and not from editors' own research or ideas, but it should be rewritten in your own words. Your contributions might be undone if people are unsure that they conform to these policies. Or, it might just be that people aren't sure what you're trying to do!
