Non-mainspace should be reported as NA-Class

User: Headbomb (talk · contribs)

Time: 07:32, 3 March 2011 (UTC)

Where: Book talk:Be Wikipedia Wise, amongst others.

Discussion: Not quite a bug, more like a tweak. Pages which aren't found in the mainspace should be reported as "NA-Class" rather than "Unassessed-Class". Aka, Help:Foobar, Wikipedia:Foobar, etc... should just be reported as NA-Class. Headbomb {talk / contribs / physics /books} 07:32, 3 March 2011 (UTC)

Implemented. Haven't tested it yet because the database corrupted. Noom talk contribs 18:21, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
Shouldn't the template look for NA=?? rather than Other=?? for the NA column? The bots currently set to return NA rather than Other for non-mainspace pages. Noom talkcontribs 19:14, 3 March 2011 (UTC)

Creating reports for deleted books

Task: Creating reports for books that have been deleted.

User: RL0919 (talk · contribs)

Time: 20:07, 12 March 2011 (UTC)

Where: [4], among others

Discussion: Several pages and the associated talk pages were deleted per Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Book:Featured Articles, and a little over an hour later, NoomBot recreated the talk pages to produce reports for them. This might just be poor timing (tasks already cached in some sort of queue), but before I re-deleted I'd like to be sure it won't just keep recreating the pages. --RL0919 (talk) 20:07, 12 March 2011 (UTC)

Seems to be they were deleted after the bot got the book list. The bot crashed so I can apply a quick fix to check if books still exist before attempting to generate book reports. Noom talk contribs 03:00, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
Implemented a fix. Fine to delete any recreated articles. Don't hesitate to undo/delete the bots actions on a book, it won't war with you.Noom talk contribs 03:12, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

Will run bot with this bug still present overnight, due to the amount of time it's been off. Will fix this tomorrow afternoon. Noom talk contribs 00:14, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
I did have a look into this bug, but I couldn't find a source of the error. The most recent edit by the bot has fixed this. It might be the computer went to sleep mid-way through the task and caused some problems (it did this earlier too (disabled auto-sleep)). Noom talk contribs 13:47, 27 March 2011 (UTC)

Discussion: Why is the bot making an edit only to update a timestamp? Ucucha 12:41, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

Data loss. The bot won't edit just for timestamps after this run. Noom talk contribs 16:47, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
Thanks. Ucucha 19:31, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

This is still happening [6]. The bot should switch to a editing a subpage (Template:Book report time) with a time stamp once it's done with the bot run rather than update the pages individually. Headbomb {talk /contribs / physics / books} 22:05, 4 April 2011 (UTC)

Unclear why it's still doing this. Will check soon. Noom talk contribs 16:35, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
Seems fixed:
Book:Canadian campaign of 1775 editing... Skipped; same content.
Book:Oryzomys editing... Skipped; same content.

Will monitor the bots next run to make sure it's not just updating timestamps. Noom talk contribs 22:43, 10 April 2011 (UTC)
Still doing it. [7] Headbomb {talk /contribs / physics / books} 11:32, 18 April 2011 (UTC)
Okay, so I've done some more checking and ran it in 'silent' mode to see if it fails to compare book reports, and it seems to be okay now. It's possible that there was a small whitespace difference or slight change I made that caused the string containing the new report in it to be slightly different. I will be making some changes to make sure the code isn't as 'strict' when comparing reports, to make sure whitespace differences and minor changes make no difference. Keeping bug as closed an re-running bot again. Noom talk stalk 18:54, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

The bot didn't like the whitespace after the ':' but before the article. The patterns have been updated to allow for more whitespace.Noom talk stalk 16:03, 15 May 2011 (UTC)

Average score inconsistency

Status  Resolved

Task: Book Reports

User: Chris857 (talk · contribs)

Time: 23:54, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

Where: Book talk:FIRST

Discussion: I've noticed that the average book score and the average in the summary don't match up, and it seems to be that the summary isn't counting unassessed articles toward the article count. For example, this shows a score of 1.1, but the summary says 1.9.

Ah, yes, there was a slight inconsistency within the bots scoring table than what is shown in the actual book reports. I've modified it, and it should now correctly report unassessed ratings. Noom talk stalk14:08, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
