Team StarKid is a group of friends from Michigan famous for making A Very Potter Musical. The group met while studying at the University of Michigan and did several projects together, usually in conjunction with Basement Arts, before hitting surprise mainstream success through A Very Potter Musical. Their original musical Me And My Dick broke records as it became the first college musical to break into the Billboards top Cast albums, debuting at number 11. As of July 2010, the group's latest music release is "A Very StarKid Album", a compilation album featuring songs from the Harry Potter musicals, Little White Lie, Me And My Dick and some original music; it rose to number 27 on the iTunes charts, beating out Lady Gaga and the Glee soundtrack for a little while. In a recent interview, Darren Criss has hinted that Team StarKid may form an organised theatre company in the near future, which they have now done.
Little White Lie (2007)[edit]
Little White Lie is a webseries that is made up of an eleven part first season. The show was funded by winning a contest on SoapNet. It follows Sami and Duder Reese, two talented performers who dream of becoming rockstars but lack good songwriting skills. After stealing songs from a fellow student and claiming them as their own, the two contest with remorse and the popularity they now enjoy from the songs. While members of Team Starkid have said they have ideas for a Season Two, they also said that the chances of making a Season Two are quite slim due to the fact that the original actors are now spread out across the United States and Canada, and that they lack proper funding.
A Very Potter Musical (2009)[edit]
Premiering as Harry Potter: The Musical at Basement Arts (a student theatre in conjunction with the University of Michigan), the show was not originally intended for YouTube.[1] It was later uploaded onto Youtube and gained popularity. Because of the unexpectedly generous reception and fear of legal issues, it was removed for cleaning, censoring, and renaming.[2] It was later reposted as A Very Potter Musical. Although they have sold the soundtracks to their other productions, Team Starkid does not charge money for the soundtrack to A Very Potter Musical, again for legal issues.
It combines plot elements from many of the Harry Potter books but uses a lot of artistic liberty and includes inside jokes from Team Starkid.[3]

Also premeiring at Basement Arts, Me and My Dick was performed live from October 29 through October 31, 2009.[4] It later premiered on YouTube on November 13. The soundtrack debuted at No. 11 on the National Billboard after being released on March 9 by Tunecore.[5]

A Very Potter Sequel (2010)[edit]
"A Very Potter Sequel" is the sequel to the acclaimed "A Very Potter Musical" that takes the audience back to Harry, Ron, and Hermione's first year of Hogwarts. It was originally debuted in Ann Arbor, Michican, on May 14th, 15th, and 16th. It was released to the public first at Infinitus, a Harry Potter convention in Orlando, Florida. The musical was released on YouTube on July 22nd. This time the music was released in a new way anything that mentioned Harry Potter or some key part of the books is available for free on their BandCamp account. The rest of the music can be found on A Very Starkid Album which you can buy on BandCamp, Itunes..and so on.
