My name is Paul Barnaby and I work for Edinburgh University Library and for the School of History, Classics, and Archaeology at the University of Edinburgh. I am responsible for editing the Walter Scott Digital Archive.

Early Life and Studies[edit]

I was born in Lytham-St. Annes, England on 11 January 1965, and moved to Thurso, Scotland in summer 1971. I attended Thurso High School, which was built by Basil Spence[1]. I went on to study French and Italian at Edinburgh University, graduating M.A. Hons in 1986. After working as teacher of English as a Foreign Language in France and Italy for three years, I returned to Edinburgh to study for a Ph.D. in Italian Literature.
