I have a PhD degree in biology from the Aarhus University, Institute of Biological Sciences, where I did my PhD at the department of Genetics and Ecology.

I'm currently employed as an associate professor at the Bioinformatics Research Centre, Aarhus University.

My PhD work concentrated on the primitive genera of the Attine ants - also known as fungus growing ants. I switched completely to bioinformatics and I'm working on HERVs (human endogenous retroviruses) and primate genetics.

In my spare time I’m enjoying my family, my house and garden. When I find time I play underwater rugby and enjoy the world of scuba diving. I’m a member of Biodyk, which is a very nice, local diving club.
