Full name: Fabiane Filgueiras Rendtler Bang

Fabiane Filgueiras Rendtler Bang, better known by her stage name Fabi Bang (Rio de Janeiro, October 4, 1984), is a Brazilian actress, singer and dancer. She became known for her performance in the Brazilian production of Wicked, as Glinda. She is also the protagonist of the Brazilian production of The Little Mermaid in the theater, as the mermaid Ariel.

She began working professionally with musical theater in 2005, in The Phantom of the Opera as swing. After that, she remained in the musical theater doing several works, such as Beauty and the Beast, Cats, Priscilla, the Queen of the Desert and Cinderella.

Biography[edit]

Beginning[edit]

Fabi grew up in Santa Tereza with her family. She is the daughter of Maria Lucia Bang and Miguel Bang and has an older brother, Erick. At the age of three she began to study classical ballet where she graduated from the Escola de Danças Maria Olenewa. At the age of five, she participated in the movie A Princesa Xuxa e os Trapalhões. She studied acting at Casa das Artes de Laranjeiras (CAL). At the age of eighteen, she became a professional dancer and joined the corps de ballet of several contemporary dance companies in Rio de Janeiro and Hamburg, Germany. In 2002, she participated in the musical O Fantasma do Teatro, at the Teatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro.

Career in Theatre, Television and YouTube[edit]

In 2005, she entered the musical The Phantom of Opera, at Teatro Abril (current Teatro Renault) in São Paulo as a swing, when she decided to dedicate herself to musical theater, which is why she began her singing studies with Paula Capovilla and Marconi Araújo. Her curriculum consists of musicals such as Miss Saigon, Beauty and the Beast, Cats, Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, Kiss Me, Kate - The Kiss of Megara, Wicked, The Little Mermaid and among others.

In January 2016, it was announced that Fabi would play Glinda in the Brazilian version of the Broadway musical Wicked - The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz alongside Myra Ruiz and Jonatas Faro. Also in 2016, she won the award for "Best Supporting Actress" for Lois Lane in Kiss Me, Kate at the second edition of the Reverência Award that took place in São Paulo. In July of the same year it was announced that Fabi would be in Globo's new 7pm soap opera, Rock Story, where she played Nina, a singer who publicly claims that she is Miro's sister (Guilherme Logullo) when in fact she is his girlfriend. She is in a serious relationship with music producer and Little Nation member Rique Azevedo, who also produced her first single titled Ironias. In February 2017, Fabi promotes her YouTube channel "Apenas Existindo", in partnership with Myra Ruiz, where the two post covers of songs and show their daily lives. Two months later, both announced Desafiando a Amizade, a show directed by Miguel Falabella that took place on May 4 at Teatro Cetip, in São Paulo. The show was so successful that they released an extra, this time at Teatro Porto Seguro, also in São Paulo, on July 4th. Tickets sold out in less than an hour, promoting one more show on July 3 and a season in September. Between September and December 2017, Fabi joined the cast of Garota de Ipanema - O Musical da Bossa Nova, during the musical's season in São Paulo, working alongside Cláudio Lins, Andrea Marquee, Tadeu Freitas, Jhafiny Lima, Marcelo Várzea, Nicola Lama, Ariane Souza, Eduarda Fadini and, again, with Myra Ruiz. Bang also announced his first solo show open to the public: A Vida É Um Filme together with the Paraisópolis Philharmonic Orchestra that took place on December 12th and 13th at Teatro Cetip. She was featured as Princess Ariel in the Disney musical, The Little Mermaid, which premiered in March 2018 at Teatro Santander. In the last session of The Little Mermaid, Fabi announced that she was pregnant. Fabi and Myra announced a new partnership with the show "De Volta a Oz" in celebration of the fifteenth anniversary of the musical Wicked's debut on Broadway. The first took place at Teatro Porto Seguro on November 5, 2018 and the second at Teatro Renault on December 10, the latter with an orchestra and the participation of Diego Montez, Thuany Parente, Adriana Quadros, Gabriel Leone and Roberta Japheth.

Fabi is married to music producer Rique Azevedo. The couple's first child, Isabel, was born on March 1, 2019.
