Pedro Tijuán was born on March the 8th of 1941 in a little village of Madrid. At the age of 6, his dad got an illness. Thus, he started listening to music with a radio his parents had. When he was 10, his parents bought him a guitar and with a group of friends they made a little band, but they did only play for themselves. In those years, there were not Internet nor mobiles and people knew them via friends or some posters they put in the city. When he started studying in New York, he had to abandon the band because he was so far from home.

In the mid 60s there was the hippie movement, so his way of supporting the cause was using music as a tool to support the revolution. In 1967, when he started to get famous, with folk music, the main style of music that was listened was made by instruments like guitar, drums and bass. But a decade later, electronic music bump out into the musical industry and made him wonder if his music would still be at the top of the hit list. However, he continued with his musical style even if there were new and fresh ones. In 1991, he published one of his main music albums, “Highway 911 revisited” and, as this year Internet was created, it made a lot easier the diffusion of his album.

2001 was an important year for Pedro Tijuán because of two facts: one affected to his career, which was the implementation of Euro in his country; and the other, which affected to his personal life, was the birth of his first grand-daughter. Due to his long career, he had to adapt to the way of selling music according to the different types of technology that audience had for listening to music. First of all, it came the vinyl. Then, cassettes, CD, mp3, and finally streaming music. 

In 2016, he won  the Nobel prize of literature for his great lyrics and poetry. Currently, he is planning a world tour to commemorate his 50th anniversary of his music career.
