How I Became a Converse Basketball Player

[edit]

My name is Jay Mitchell and I am a member of the men's basketball team at Converse University. When I was high school, I attended Forsyth Country Day School in Lewisville, North Carolina. During my two year tenure at Forsyth, I was a 2x team captain, and 2x All-Conference player, a 1x All-State Player, and was named team MVP by my coaching staff. I enjoyed my time at Forsyth because people were always so supportive and spirited when it came to sports, especially basketball.

Before I decided on coming to Converse, I was getting recruited by many other schools that saw me as a potential fit to be a part of their programs. I appreciated what each school and basketball program had to offer, but I decided that Converse University was the best fit for me. I knew that I would be a part of the legacy in the making since Converse was an all female institution until this year, and I took advantage of my opportunity and accepted the offer that was presented to me to be a member of the team.
