Phillip Allen Humphries (also Phillip Humphries, Phillip A. Humphries, Phil Humphries) is an American martial artist, retired Central Intelligence Agency technical operations and security officer, writer, radio host and private detective.

Humphries is an American martial artist, holding black belt rank in USKS Karate under Master Jim Thomas of the United States Karate System - USA Martial Arts Alliance, an American 'open' style martial arts association that focuses mostly on point karate tournaments in the United States, the Caribbean, Mexico and Canada. Jim Thomas, director of the Alliance, is a movie actor, tournament promoter and professional martial arts business owner. Humphries also holds a 1st degree black belt in Kempo under Shodai Gary Dill's Jeet Kune Do Association. Dill is an original student of Bruce Lee's Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do under James Yimm Lee at Bruce Lee's Oakland school.

Through his career in intelligence, law enforcement and military service, Humphries has been exposed to multiple martial disciplines that include several systems of Karate, WTF Taekwondo, Korean Kumdo, Kung Fu, Taijiquan, Krav Maga, Aikido, Hapkido, modern combatives and police defensive tactics. Humphries began his martial arts training as a teenager at Glenn Keeney's Komakai Academy of Karate (Goju-Ryu) in Anderson, Indiana in the 1970s.

Humphries fenced Olympic style epee at Fencing Sports Academy in Fairfax, Virginia, and trained under Chinese Wu Shu luminary Lu Xiaolin and Kung Fu expert Clarence Burris of Merrifield, Virginia while an active CIA employee. Humphries also studied Laohu Okinawan Kenpo under another CIA employee during his career in Washington, and trained in Krav Maga, edged weapons and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at The Silverback Academy in Dulles, VA. Humphries received CQC/H2H instruction internally at CIA.

Humphries currently practices Kobayashi Shorin Ryu Karate at East West Connection Martial Arts in Hales Corners, Wisconsin under Daniel Schroeder, 9th Dan, Yamashita Karate Systems. Humphries relocated to the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area from Washington, D.C. following his retirement from CIA.

Humphries is the author of "Legend of the Four Dragons Sword," a martial arts fantasy novel. Humphries also authored "Quest for the Way: Origins of the Martial Arts" which has been published in digital form in the United States and United Kingdom in martial arts publications such as The Martial Edge and USADojo.com.

Humphries is a radio DJ and show host for Indie Radio Music (indieradiomusic.com), a digital radio station in Wisconsin, USA, where he hosts "The Lucky Buzzard Radio Hour," a multi-genre indie music broadcast. Humphries has also hosted "The Enigma Report," a radio podcast broadcast on Indie Radio Music and social media (Podbean) highlighting UFO cases drawn from the investigative files of the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON).
