I am Patricia Kelly Spurles. I am a woman, mother of a boy and a girl, married heterosexual allied with LGBTQ and disability rights social movements, heirloom rose gardener, Maritimer, Canadian, quilter and knitter, goldendoodle F1B owner, anthropologist, graduate of McGill University and Université de Montréal, and associate professor and head of anthropology at Mount Allison University. I teach classical and contemporary theory in anthropology, anthropology of the life course, and anthropology of the body, as well as ethnography of North Africa & the Middle East and Africa, and other courses.
