International School of Walvis Bay[edit]

International School of Walvis Bay is an Independent International School with three divisions(High school, Primary and a pre-primary) allocated in the hearts of Walvis Bay town. ISWB has a mission of "If you set priorities that fit your needs and lifestyle, you'll have a better chance of achieving your goals". The school is registered as an Cambridge International Examinations Centre making it legal for its academic practice, the School consists 18 fulltime employees and 8 specialist consultant and currently grown to a population of 144 students[1] . The Mrs Henda Meyer is the school principle as from early 2009 and still currently running the office, according to her the school is high achieving school in many areas academically and social activities. The School has placement fees amounted to N200.00 fee payable on submission of the Application Form of all students.


The International School of Walvis Bay is registered as a private school, and it depends on parents for any financial need that may arise at school, but most excitingly the school offers bursaries to students on the basis of financial need and talent, and if possible, in collaboration with a sponsor, who mostly come from disadvantaged backgrounds. Moreover the school offers Compassionate Bursaries to students who are already registered as part of the school and is unable to temporarily meet the required fees[2] . Futhermore with applications to the principle, there are limited assitence of funds to families who are at the IWB.

Students in year 10, 11 and 12 at the ISWB are obliged to have a laptop with four committed and qualified teacher, with a class of a restricted amount of 22 students, these student are able to advance in Information technology ICT, making the intranet part of their daily lifes as the student post their school work electronically thus feedback is given electronically by teachers.[3]

The High School consists of these sports activities:

  • Athletics – in-house and Regional
  • Soccer
  • Tennis
  • Squash
  • Kick-Boxing
  • Horse riding (excluded from the school fees – payable extra)
  • Ballet (excluded from the school fees – payable extra)

Interantional School of Walvis Bay offers the uniqueness of its academics in preparation of brighter futures for its students.
