Pranjal Pratim Bhuyan (Journalist)
Pranjal Pratim Bhuyan (Born on August 19, 1980) is a senior journalist based in Guwahati, Assam, India. He works for The Assam Tribune newspaper and writes under the name of 'PRANJAL BHUYAN'.
Early Life
Bhuyan was born in Guwahati and did his schooling from Kendriya Vidyalaya Khanapara. After finishing his school education, he moved to Pune (in Maharashtra state of India) for his higher education. He got his Masters Degree in Mass Communication and Journalism from the University of Pune. He also has Masters degrees in Political Science and Sociology.
Career
Bhuyan started his professional career as Correspondent for The Times of India, Pune edition, where he wrote on diverse issues including defence, Science & Technology, Features and Local Affairs.
In 2008, he moved to New Delhi where he started working for The Press Trust of India (PTI) news agency. Bhuyan worked in PTI for five years during which period he covered the Corporate and Finance sectors. He visited Germany and South Korea on official assignments.
He shifted to the Guwahati Bureau of PTI in 2012, before joining The Assam Tribune, a leading English daily of North East India, in 2013. He is now working for that newspaper and covers Political Affairs and Railways.
