Chris Sparling is an American screenwriter, director, and actor who was born in Providence, Rhode Island. He is best known for writing the dramatic thriller Buried, starring Ryan Reynolds, which received critical acclaim at the Sundance Film Festival in 2010 and was acquired by Lionsgate Films.[1] The film is scheduled for a limited theatrical release on September 24, 2010, followed by a nationwide U.S. release on October 8, 2010.

His next project, ATM, is a horror-thriller that is slated to begin production in September 2010 with Gold Circle Films.[2]

He is also writing a screenplay for M. Night Shyamalan on a project titled Twelve Strangers, which is being described as a thriller about a jury deliberating a case involving the supernatural. This film is the second of a three-part film series known as 'The Night Chronicles', a collection of films produced, but not written or directed, by Shyamalan.[3]
