Gregory ____ Dean (born), known professionally as Greg Dean, is an American stand-up comedian, podcaster, writer, comedy instructor and TV personality. Dean is the author of six books on stand-up comedy and teaches stand-up courses in Los Angeles. Dean lives with his family in Los Angeles, California


Early life[edit]

Dean was born in(Birthdate) in Modesto, CA. He attended Mark Twain High School where he excelled in swimming and drama activities. Dean then went to Modesto Junior College for three years pursuing a psychology major before leaving to attend the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Clown College class of 1973 attending with famed magician Penn Jillette of Penn &Teller.


Career[edit]

Greg Dean began his career as a juggling clown for Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus before joining the Gatti-Charles Circus until 1975. He then moved to San Francisco where he began performing as a comedy and juggling act on the street as well as local comedy clubs.

Eventually, Dean decided he wanted to try his hand at Hollywood. Dean took his solo stand-up comedy to nightclubs such as

the Comedy Store where he became a paid-regular and his name is on the Wall of

Fame. At the Comedy Store he helped develop an evening of improvisation and sketch

comedy. He organized his own improv troupe, Good Co., which included Andy Garcia.

The Comedy Store sent him to La Jolla, California to work on a similar evening of

comedy, where he met and trained Whoopi Goldberg.

In 1982, Dean began his Stand-up comedy workshop. Here he developed a proprietary process for developing jokes and a stage presence which he has continued to this day.

Since the beginning, Greg dean has helped launch the careers of Whoopie Goldberg, Anthony Jeselnik, Sherri Shepherd, Sean Carrigan, Gayla Johnson, Richard Villa, Loni Love, Tamer Kattan, Hanna Dickinson and David Blatter.

Personal life[edit source]

Dean and fellow stand-up comedian Gayla Johnson have been married since (Enter date), they currently live in Los Angeles, California.
