User:Protoclete

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Protoclete is the title of the first apostle of the Christ Jesus, St. Andrew. I take it in honor of him.

I am a seminary and university professor in Rome. My areas of expertise are Catholic Christian ecclesiology and ecumenism, popes, and interreligious dialogue, but with a healthy dose of pastoral experience, liturgy and church history, too. Most of my contributions therefore are in this area, trying to cut through the vociferous masses of armchair theologians and apologists and get a little bit of accuracy onto these pages.

I have actually used the ongoing Wikipedia Catholic Church and Roman Catholic (term) pages the topic of a project for class, particularly the ongoing debate about "Roman Catholic" vs. "Catholic", to demonstrate the power of popular misinformation vis a vis reception of indirect magisterial teaching.
