I compared the Spanish and English versions of "Soccer," primarily because I'm interested in the discrepancy between "Football" and "Soccer" in the respective languages. Not surprisingly, the Spanish version is literally more than double the length of the English version. English comes out to 5,765 words and Spanish comes out to 11,548 words. The Spanish version gets into a lot more detail about game play, explaining each position's duties and tactics used. In other words, the English version is "objectively telling" what the game is about, and the Spanish version is "passionately explaining" what the game is about, almost as if the latter is trying to convince the reader to start playing immediately. The picture at the top of the English version is a live action shot (same as the Spanish version), but it does not entail a supplemental picture of the soccer field for further understanding. --Information-01152001 (talk) 14:44, 25 March 2013 (UTC)
